Meskel Square, also referred to as Mesqel Square, is a crowded square located in the center of the city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This square is often the center for public gatherings, festivals, protests and demonstrations, but there is something another that makes this square special.

Vehicles in various sizes and shapes pass through this square daily without a single traffic light or traffic police in sight. It is one of the hotspots for car accidents happening in Addis Ababa. Reportedly, 8% of all accidents in Addis Ababa happens on this chaotic square.
