When it comes to aircrafts, the United States owns the best ones! These perfectly built aircrafts are one of the biggest, or maybe the biggest, factors that lies behind the power of U.S Air Force.

Through the years, the United States has brought glorious victories using these aircrafts. Today, we're checking out one of them! The Boeing B-52, aka Stratofortress! The B-52 is technically a long-range, subsonic, jet-powered heavy bomber designed and built Boeing Company. It has been operated by the U.S Air Force since the 1950's. It has been used in the Cold War, Vietnam War, Gulf War and more. It performed its very first flight in April, 1952 and is still in service. It has a wingspan of 185 feet and a length of 160 feet 10.9 inches. It takes its power from eight jet engines mounted under the wings in four twin pods. Its maximum speed at 55,000 feet is Mach 0.9 which is equal to 375 miles per hour. It is capable of carrying 70,000 pounds of weapons and it carried a crew of six.
