You probably hear people often saying "old is gold"! Well, it is, in fact! If you look at the old technology and the products built using it, you can clearly see that it is not as primitive as we expect it to be. In today's video, which will make you feel like watching a nostalgic movie, you're going to see an amazing vehicle as a product of old technology, SPMT. We hear you asking what it is! SPMT, or self-propelled modular transporter, is simply a modular vehicle with a very larger array of wheels. Designed and built by Mammoet, a leading company providing services for lifting, transporting and installing large and heavy structures, the self-propelled modular transporter in the video is used to transport gigantic objects, including bridge parts, oil refining equipment, airfoil and airplane engine. These type of transporters come with different modules and axle lines. Each has different technical specifications and dimensions. The first self-propelled transporters were built back in the 1970's. The transporter you're going to see in the video is one of the oldest ones.
